The Cats' Retreat for discerning cats with caring
owners |

Christine with a BA
and Dip Ed, and a passion for animals, and Nick, an architect and qualified
carpenter, moved to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula with their children from suburbia to
instigate a “sea change”. They farmed
alpacas and then Christine came up with the idea of boarding cats after
having visited a cattery in Queensland
where her sister’s cat resided on many an occasion. This idea worked in
beautifully, succumbing to Christine’s
passion for animals and allowing her
an occupation which enabled her to be around at alpaca birthing times, and Nick’s ability to design and build. |

The preferred name was “The
Purrr-fect Guest House”, but someone else had already registered that . Hurriedly
“The Cats’ Retreat” was chosen
and accepted. If more time had been available, it would have been called it “Purr-a-lot
House”, but that name didn’t come up
until a day or so later .. obviously
there was a reason!! |
